On April 23rd over 60 riders showed up on their bikes for our first Head 2 Holt event. Riders came from as far as Emporia, Lone Jack and Saint Joseph. Most of the bikes were sportbikes, and we had some nice ones: Aprilia Factory, Repsol Honda, lots of Ducati's, 3 Buell's, an old Laverda, and the more typical sportbikes too. We also had about 10 dual sport bikes, some touring bikes and some nice cruisers joined in the fun.

Lunch was great at both Little Joe's Pizza and Dolly's Diner. Joe's BBQ sandwiches and pizza by the slice were a big hit. Those that tried a tenderloin at Dolly's were not disappointed. Word is her home-made pies are good too.

Some people met up early and rode to Holt as a group from various locations. Others left Holt for a brief ride and returned to hang out. After lunch people got together and headed out on several group rides. There are some good twisty roads, scenic rides around Smithville Lake and good gravel for the dual sport guys. More...

Everyone commented that the food was good and liked meeting up in Holt with other riders. So, we decided to try doing the ride twice each month. Starting in June, it will be the 2nd and 4th Sunday.
