Head 2 Holt #2 and Country Auction on May 7th
If you had a side car you could have purchased a duck or a chicken from the farm auction across the street. The auction provided a lot of local flavor and a few laughs. We also now know how many ducks fit in a truck bed tool box. You just had to be there! :)
The weather looked like it could rain at any time almost all day, but we still had over 50 riders show up on their bikes this time. Our friends from St. Joe brought even more friends and represented the largest group to show up with 9 bikes!
Once again we had a wide range of bikes to oogle over. Jim Koenig from Letko Cycles brought a brand spanking new hot rod Ducati Monster for all to see. Soon it will be available for test rides at Letko!
Mike Jones from Engle Motors was also there on his Triumph Tiger, but he parked it by the ducks and chickens for some reason. Maybe he thought the Tiger would feel at home there?
Jim and Matt Hall from Two Wheel Connection showed up on their GXSR 1000 and CBR 1000RR, which were of course spotless and totally free of chicken strips. More...
Little Joe cooked up 70 pounds of BBQ and it got snarfed up by us and the auction folks. He said he lost count of the Pizzas they went through. As usual people commented on how good the pizza and BBQ sandwiches were. Thanks again to Joe for blocking off an area for us to park.
This time more people wandered into Dolly's Diner and came away impressed and stuffed. Nobody could believe how big or how good the tenderloins were. What can I say but "I told you so!"
Remember you get a free soft drink or tea with your lunch at Little Joe's and Dolly's Diner when you wear your MotorcycleCloseouts.com shirt. Just stop by the store and ask for a shirt if you don't have one yet.
The next ride will be on May 21st. There will be hill climb races just 2 miles from our lunch spot, which start at 1 pm. Be advised that there is about 1.5 miles of good gravel road on the way to the races. Parking is in an open grass field or gravel area. The races are a blast to watch as all kinds of bikes go blasting up the hill in about 8 seconds. Admission is just $6, and they have a snack bar and restrooms facilities.
